Global Talent Stream

The Global Skills Strategy is a program which was introduced in June 2017, for Canadian companies looking to hire highly skilled international talent. The purpose of this program is to maximize the economic and social advantages of Canada in world’s marketplace.

Eligibility

  • Category A: You are eligible for this category if you are referred by one of the Stream’s designated partners and if you are hiring an individual with unique and specialized talent. OR
  • Category B: You are eligible for this category if you are looking to hire a highly skilled foreign worker to fill a position that is listed on in demand occupation found on the Global Talent Occupations List. You do not need a referral to be eligible for Category B.

 

Employer Requirements

  Processing fees of $1,000 CAD per applicant
  Work with ESDC and develop labour market benefits plan
  Show the commitment to make a considerable and positive impact on the Canadian labour market
  complete your Progress Review within the requested timeframe

Frequently Asked Questions

The Comprehensive Ranking System is a points-based system used to assess and score a candidate's profile to rank them in the Express Entry pool. Points are awarded for factors including age, education, language proficiency in English or French, work experience (both in Canada and internationally), and other factors. The higher the score, the better the chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
